Isabelle Tseng is an award-winning composer from Florida. She draws inspiration from culture, language, and current events in her music, which she has been recognized for by organizations such as ASCAP and Luna Composition Lab, with her works having been performed by award-winning ensembles, such as Imani Winds, International Contemporary Ensemble, or Ensemble for these Times (E4TT), and in festivals hosted by the American Composers Orchestra, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and Mannes School of Music, and others.
Isabelle is also an accomplished violinist. She has performed in festivals including the BUTI Young Artists Orchestra, All-National Symphony Orchestra, the Honor Orchestra of America, and was awarded First Prize at the 2022 New York International Young Musician Competition. Driven by her love of diverse musical textures, she seeks new permutations of sounds.
She has previously studied violin with mentors such as Ms. Rimma Bergeron-Langlois, Dr. Lev Gurevich, Ms. Bing Wang, Dr. Klaudia Szlachta, and Ms. Melissa White, and composition with Veronika Krausas at Luna Composition Lab and Seunghee Lee with the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra.
She currently studies Math and Economics at Princeton University, where she plays in the Princeton University Orchestra, studies violin with Ms. Sunghae Anna Lim, and has continued her composition studies with Mr. Thomas Weaver.
In her free time, Isabelle enjoys learning new instruments (such as the guqin or flute), writing immaculate food reviews, and failing at crocheting.
