The Grave of Shelley was written Summer 2021, inspired by Oscar Wilde’s poem, The Grave of Shelley. The piece follows Wilde’s words, where Shelley, the poet in which Wilde is honoring, is not fully at peace. In metaphors, we hear about the grand power Shelley holds. Around the half-way point in the score, we hear a descent into the grave and the eerie echo of Shelley and Wilde’s words to him.
